Last year I was in limbo–searching for full-time work as a communications writer, but also trying to hang on to some flexibility. I attended this great conference that helped me define my goals, and gave me the confidence to “jump back in” to a career–not to mention that I found it to be a valuable networking experience. The conference is coming up again and I thought I would share it with this group.

Save the Date: 2014 iRelaunch Annual Return to Work Conference!

Wednesday, October 1; 9am-5pm, Columbia University, Lerner Hall

Learn the Most Effective Return to Work Strategies and Meet Employers Interested in Hiring Relaunchers
Expert guidance, concrete direction, and the opportunity to connect with interested employers — that’s what you can expect at an iRelaunch Return to Work Conference. It’s a one-day event specifically designed to meet the needs of experienced professionals (in all fields including communications, media, publishing, marketing and more) returning from career break and the employers interested in recruiting them. The Conference hosts women and men who’ve taken time from their careers to care for children and parents, or pursue volunteer opportunities or personal interests. Why you took a break (or how long you’ve been out) doesn’t matter. What matters is finding practical, actionable and relevant guidance for returning to work with a purpose.

This event is coordinated by iRelaunch, founded by Carol Fishman Cohen and Vivian Steir Rabin, authors of the acclaimed career reentry strategy book, “Back on the Career Track.” For more information, www.returntoworkconference.com
